Today we have Johannes Larsson to share his insights with us.

Johannes Larsson, a Swedish entrepreneur, is the founder and CEO of Financer. Being an SEO geek and affiliate marketing expert, all of his earnings are through his affiliate marketing. Larsson took his first dive into affiliate marketing ten years ago. Larsson is an inspiration for all the modern world affiliates who want to start their own business and get thriving success in the affiliate world.

Cloudways: Johannes, it’s lovely to have you for this interview. Could you please tell our readers about yourself?

Johannes: I’m excited to be speaking to you today! First and foremost, I’m an entrepreneur. Entrepreneurship is in my blood and I’ve been especially focused on affiliate marketing for the last decade. I’m the founder and CEO of Financer.com, a financial comparison website and I also run my own website Johanneslarsson.com which provides entrepreneurship insights and resources to assist and inspire others who want to make money online.

Cloudways: Can you share your backstory with us? What motivated you to step into the affiliate world a decade ago?

Johannes: Ever since I was a teenager I knew I wanted to make money online if I could. I didn’t have much interest in school or going down a typical career path, so while my peers were studying for exams I was learning everything I could about creating websites, SEO, and making money.

Affiliate marketing appealed to me early on and I saw there was huge potential to make it a passive income stream. When I saw I had a talent for making money this way, I began building up my business and teaching my team to do the same thing, making money while helping people learn more about their financial options, all over the world.

Cloudways: As you say that the affiliate marketing game requires a lot of resilience and experimentation. We are curious about the experiments that you had to do. Can you share some of those?

Johannes: I’m a big believer in micro experiments and creating MVPs (minimum viable products), which means I tend to launch new ideas quite quickly and then work on them in response to the feedback I receive. I think it’s important to keep your readers in mind at all times as an affiliate marketer, as without them you wouldn’t have a business at all. Find out whether they prefer detailed reviews, comparisons, videos, blog posts, or something else entirely. See what they respond best to, what they say to you, and follow their lead as much as possible.

Cloudways: What advice would you like to give to beginners who are paving their way in the affiliate marketing world?

Johannes: My main advice would have to be this: Don’t give up. You won’t become a rich and successful affiliate marketer through working on your business for a few hours a week, whatever anybody tries to tell you.

You need to put in the hours and learn as much as possible from those who have walked the path before you. Become a sponge for knowledge, take constructive feedback, and don’t be work-shy. You will get where you want to be in time, but until then enjoy this journey along the way. It’s all part of the fun and you’ll create a more sustainable business in the long run with this kind of attitude.

Ever since making my first affiliate sale, I started to dream of the life affiliate marketing could give me. But it took a lot more than dreaming to make this a reality.

Cloudways: According to you, What are three things affiliates should do to get impressive results?

Johannes: 1. Create great relationships with affiliate networks. This will pay off when you want to get better rewards and commissions.

2. Make the best content you can. Investing in your content is always worthwhile.
3. Have patience – Rome wasn’t built in a day.

Cloudways: Having a 6-figure monthly affiliate revenue, what is the secret recipe of your success? How did you achieve the title of being the Affiliate Pro and Digital Nomad?

Johannes: I put my success down mostly to the fact that I truly love the affiliate marketing grind. I think the only way you can work hard at something over the course of a decade is if you enjoy the roller coaster ride it takes you on. It’s not always easy, but I never dread coming to work, and I think that has contributed to my success in a big way.

Cloudways: You are a mentor to a lot of people and you have mentioned it on your website that help seekers should feel free to contact you. Who was your mentor and inspiration?

Johannes: I’ve always taken inspiration from those who have walked the journey before me and are killing it in their respective areas. I think of the likes of Tai Lopez, Grant Cardone, Lewis Howes, and Ed Mylett as invaluable mentors and I’m always grateful for the inspiration they have given me over the years.

Cloudways: In your Training Program, you mentioned “The affiliate marketing game is not for everyone. You need a good amount of patience and resilience to succeed.”  What were the hurdles and failures you experienced back then and even now? How do you overcome them?

Johannes: The first hurdle every affiliate marketer needs to overcome is patience. This is not an industry where you make money overnight, and you must be willing to keep grinding without reward for some time before you start to see success. Once I learned that I became a lot more confident in my affiliate journey.

Cloudways: Okay, let us push the work talk; how do you spend your leisure time?

Johannes: I love to spend time outside in nature and away from screens. Whether that’s growing fruit and vegetables in my garden or surfing at the beach, I love the chance to disconnect from the online world and spend time outdoors.
